Johnny appeared at Westbury Music Fair on 8/26/2010. My husband and I have been fans for over 50 years. We played his music thru out our courtship and married years. No one can sing a romantic song the way he does. His humility and sincerity are visible in his performance, you've got to love this guy.

Johnny Mathis Concert Tickets

There are few American singer/songwriters who are more beloved than Johnny Mathis. In a career that has spanned more than 50 years, Mathis has released a string of classic songs that are staples of the nation's songbook. There's something to be said about the popularity of classic songs, and some tunes never go out of fashion. Johnny Mathis has long been one of the most prolific artists when it comes to performing standards. You won't want to miss this musical sensation, so snag your Johnny Mathis tickets while you still can.

Mathis' music career began in the 1950s when he started performing in clubs in California. It was not long before his smooth voice and compelling stage presence started to gain him a large following, even while rock 'n roll started making its presence known on the airwaves. Mathis first made his mark with 1957's "Chances Are," one of the most popular love ballads ever written, making it to No. 1 on the U.S. pop charts the year it was released. And he would go on to become a regular on such classic television programs as "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson," with the host of the latter describing Mathis as "the best ballad singer in the world."

His string of hits continued throughout the 1960s and 70s, with songs like "Starbright" (1960), "Bye Bye Barbara" (1964) and another No. 1 hit, "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late" (1978). Mathis' smooth vocals have been compared to that of Andy Williams, Aaron Neville and Julio Iglesias.

Over the years Mathis has charted like no other performer, except perhaps Frank Sinatra and Barry Manilow. Finding that duets served him well, Mathis collaborated with many stars throughout his career. Starting in 1978 he paired up with Deniece Williams for the hit "Too Much, Too Little." He continued to pair with greats like Dionne Warwick and Natalie Cole.

Mathis also started regaining some of the fame he experienced early in his career by becoming known for singing Christmas songs, including his 2003 version of "Frosty the Snowman," which helped him chart once again, at the age of 68.

Though well into his 70s, Mathis remains a staple of pop music today, and fans of all ages have helped make him a legend. Don't miss your chance to see Johnny Mathis perform LIVE! Buy your Johnny Mathis tickets now!
