Great American
By Jon The Golf Pro from Oxnard Californai on 8/5/2008
Pros:
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Encores, Great Lighting, Great Sound
Best For:
Everyone

During the second or third song, the speakers went out and John sung an entire song before he was told that no one other than probably the first three rows could hear him. After about 10 minutes sound was restored and he did a good job of dealing with the crowd. I would see mellencamp again and again but I wouldn't see Lucinda again.

John great - Lucinda horrible
By Bassman from Anaheim, CA on 8/2/2008
Pros:
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Encores, Great Lighting, Great Sound
Best For:
Everyone

We didn't like Lucinda and didn't understand how she could be touring with a quality act like Mellencamp. She didn't have a good stage presence, a good voice, a stellar band, and was hard to look at. We feel that Mellencamp should have had a better second act.

John Mellencamp Concert Tickets

Grammy award-winning artist John Mellencamp is without a doubt one of the most noted musicians of all time. Beginning his career in the 1970s under the name John Cougar Mellencamp, he produced pop tunes until breaking into the homegrown folk and rock 'n' roll scene. Hits such as "Hurts So Good" and "Jack and Diane" were widely popular among fans and they remain among his most popular tracks to this day. Get your John Mellencamp tickets soon before they inevitably sell out.

While Mellencamp started his own band at the tender age of 14, he worked several non-industry jobs in the middle to try and support his family. When he was 24, Mellencamp moved to New York City to pursue his dream of having a music career. However, success did not come right away and Mellencamp faced a few setbacks before his talent was noticed.

American Fool was released in 1982 and is considered his breakthrough album for success with fans. "Jack and Diane" and "Hurts So Good" were instant hits with accompanying MTV music videos. By the mid-80s Mellencamp had developed his own brand of rock similar to the work of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Bob Seger.

The release of Scarecrow in 1985 afforded Mellencamp acclaim from music critics for the first time and set the bar high for many albums to follow. With hits such as "Lonely Ol' Night" and "R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A," Scarecrow is revered as one of his best reviewed albums.

In 2008, Mellencamp was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Soon after, Life, Death, Love and Freedom was released with much applause from critics and audiences. Don't miss your chance to see Jonhn Mellencamp perform LIVE! Buy your John Mellencamp tickets today!
