Jeff Magnum Concert Tickets

Though he may not be as well known as some of his indie music contemporaries, Jeff Magnum is the singer songwriter behind one of the genre's most celebrated acts, Neutral Milk Hotel. Though recent years have seen the Louisiana native take a stronger role behind the scenes as a part of the Elephant 6 Music Collective, Magnum has recently returned to the stage, and fans can get reacquainted with this talented musician by buying Jeff Magnum tickets.

Drawing inspiration from a wealth of musical influences, including the Zombies, Donovan and Sonic Youth, Magnum burst onto the scene in the late 1980s playing drums in a number of bands before hooking up with Will Cullen Hart and Bill Doss to form Neutral Milk Hotel. The trio took to Robert Schneider's Pet Sounds recording studio in 1995 to put out the group's debut album, On Avery Island.

Though the album would help the band win fans in the indie and college rock communities, Magnum sought a fuller sound to back his music and expanded the group into a 10-piece ensemble for the band's follow up, 1998's In The Aeroplane Over the Sea. Though initially greeted with mixed reviews, the album has gone on to become one of the most celebrated works of the indie rock genre. The album has earned many accolades throughout the years including a No. 2 ranking on Amazon.com's 10 Greatest Indie Rock Albums of All Time and a No. 4 ranking on Pitchfork Media's Top 100 Albums of the 90s.

Shunning the rock stardom that comes from this level of success, Magnum left the band shortly after its release, and stayed away from the music industry until 2001, when he began releasing unique audio collages, musical compilations and more. Though he continued to record and release new music throughout the years, it wasn't until 2008 that the songwriter began to revisit his earlier works. Though his performances would be relatively erratic over the following years, Magnum launched a North American tour in January 2012, and fans young and old have flocked to these shows in order to see the singer songwriter perform some of his classic hits like "Two-Headed Boy," "The King of Carrot Flowers" and "Engine."
