Jay Black, a legend within the music industry for his writing and producing abilities, preferred to stay behind the scenes, but fate had another plan, much to the delight of fans eager to pick up Jay Black tickets. Black, born in 1938, loved to write songs for other artists, but stage fright kept him from performing his own hits. That is until 1962 when his song, "She Cried," was being sung by someone else.

"Sunday and Me," written by Neil Diamond, went on to become another hit from Black and the band. Black and the band he recorded his demos with, the Americans, didn't like the original singer's sound and Black ultimately jumped in to take command. From that moment, Black and the Americans continued to make hit music including tracks like, "Only In America," "Come A Little Bit Closer" and "Walkin' In The Rain." "Only In America" was originally intended for the band, The Drifters, but Jay and the Americans decided to make it their own, and it's a good thing they did.

The song was their first hit to reach the charts and helped solidify their place in American music. By the late 1960s the group decided to stop writing their own music and instead focused on re-working past hits including Roy Orbison's "Crying" and The Drifters' top single, "This Magic Moment."

Today, Black continues to tour, selling out concerts and regularly playing at New York's Westbury Music Fair, and being dubbed "The King of Westbury." Don't miss out on Jay Black's exciting LIVE performance! Buy your Jay Black tickets now!
