Early life
While he spent the majority of his summers in Flordia, Aldean was predominantly raised in his mother’s home in Macon, Georgia. His parents had divorced at a young age, but both were very supportive of his development as a musician. He recognized a deep interest in music in himself from a young age, and was performing regularly by the time he was 15 years old. Aldean began to spend all the time that he could writing and recording songs and playing along with the classic country hits that his parents listened to. Slowly but surely, he developed as a musician, and fully dedicated himself to pursuing music following his high school graduation. In 1998, he moved to Nashville to gain recognition and opportunity as a singer and songwriter.

Musical career
Though it’s hard to imagine considering his current level of fame, Aldean’s career was initially rife with failed opportunities. He was picked up and dropped by a number of labels prior to finding the right fit with Broken Bow Records in the early 2000s. After beginning recording for the label, Aldean started to find incredible success with both his singles and his records. His debut album, Jason Aldean, was put out in 2005 and almost immediately met with critical acclaim. Since that point, Aldean has gone on to release five other full-length studio albums, including Relentless, Night Train, Old Boots, New Dirt, Wide Open and My Kinda Party. Unbelievably, all six of Aldean’s albums have gone on to earn a platinum certification. In fact, My Kinda Party went on to earn triple platinum honors and Night Train was noted as double platinum.

Critical reception
There is arguably no statistic more telling about the success of Aldean’s career as a musician than his collective record sales of more than nine million. With that said, he’s also been recognized in a number of more celebratory circles. Aldean has won six separate Academy of Country Music awards over a period spanning between 2005 and 2014. In addition to this, he has been awarded seven times with an American Country Award. He has received remarkable amounts of praise from critics from all corners of the music industry and routinely sells out arenas and stadiums on nationwide tours. He has collaborated with a number of famous musicians not only from the realm of country music, but also from other genres. He notably once joined famed rapper Ludacris for a performance at the University of Georgia.
