The show was really fantastic. A local act started the show, and really set a great standard, as well as a great mood. This show included several different style of rock. Shadows Fall played a great traditional screamo metal set, Lacuna Coil never ceases to amaze with their beautiful gothic metal style, and Stone Sour touched every end of the spectrum from metal to melodic rock throwing in some Lynard Skynard and other older rock covers. A casual fan would have enjoyed this experience, but only a die hard fan would have been able to keep their energy up throughout the whole thing. This was run like a local show, with set changes and sound checks done with hot sound equipment and mics right in front of the audience, no intermissions needed. From start to finish, this event lasted approximately five hours, sore feet included at no extra charge. Jagermeister provided freebies available to all audience members over 21 years of age.
Lacuna Coil was the highlight of the night, with high energy, beautiful metal style gothic music, and an amazing stage presence. The only disappointment was that their set was very short.
Stone Sour played last, as sore feet and tired legs ensued. Corey Taylor never ceases to shock and entertain a crowd with his high energy, personable presence and never ending wit. The encore was a welcome addition, however, the encore was the longest I have ever seen. Lasting approximate 1/2 an hour, I was beginning to tire of hearing bits and bytes of Lynard Skynard and other older rock covers, and wished he would get to the point. There were two encores total at the end of their performance. A treat for a die hard fan, but the crowd did thin out a little toward the end.
