The University of Iowa Hawkeyes baseball team plays in the Big Ten Conference of NCAA Division I. The Hawkeyes were established in 1890, and their first game was pitched by a player that didn’t actually attend the university. The Hawkeyes have earned eight conference championships, proving they are consistent contenders in the Big Ten. Buy your Iowa Hawkeyes baseball tickets now to see Big Ten baseball at its finest!

The Hawkeyes won their first conference championship in 1927. The team would soon win several more in 1938, 1939, 1942 and 1949. The Hawkeyes made their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 1972. This year the team would go all the way to the College World Series, but sadly they lost in the first round.

Many former Hawkeyes players have went on to be successful in the majors. Notable former Hawkeyes include Mike Boddiker, Jim McAndrew, Bo Porter and Jim Sundberg.

Since 1974, the Hawkeyes have played their home games at Duane Banks Field. This classic ballpark has a seating capacity of 3,000. A new playing surface and other renovations were made in 2010 to update the field.
