Since the passing of Jerry Garcia in August of 1995, there have been many offshoots, reincarnations and reconfigurations comprised of former members from the Grateful Dead. Bob Weir keeps on keeping it cheesy with Ratdog, Phil Lesh keeps dropping bombs with Phil Lesh and Friends, and Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann keep drums from going into space with Rhythm Devils. The boys have given us The Other Ones and The Dead; yet nothing has satisfied that itch that just can’t seem to be scratched. The main ingredient in this mix just might be John Kadlecik, formerly of Dark Star Orchestra. Kadlecik so eerily echoes Jerry that if you close your eyes it just could be the boys in all their glory. Jam band lovers will dig Furthur as these guys are notorious for their jams. Deadheads will get a brief flashback to the days of old while hearing the sweetness of “China Doll” like it hasn’t been sung in over 10 years.
