Eminem Concert Tickets

Born in Missouri and raised for the majority of his life in one of the poorest areas of Detroit’s metropolitan area, Eminem has been referred to by many as one of the most prolific hip hop artists to have ever lived. Known by a series of aliases including his stage name (Eminem) and Slim Shady, Marshall Bruce Mathers III left an indelible mark on the music scene of the late 1990s and 2000s with an inventive sound that blends high production value with cutting, angry lyricism. Eminem has experienced an incredible amount of commercial success, becoming a household name both musically and culturally through a number of projects and countless hit singles. Purchase your Eminem tickets today to take in this hip hop phenomenon live.

Beginnings
Though he moved around a great deal in his early life, Eminem spent most of his youth in Warren, Michigan. The small town outside of Detroit was one of incredible poverty and violence, and these themes are often reflected in Eminem's music. His father left his family when Mathers was still a small child, effectively having no relationship with the soon-to-be star after that. Raised by his mother and other family members, Mathers has described living in a world of addicts and criminals during his time in Warren. In his early teenage years he began rapping with several friends as a sort of pastime. Quickly finding a passion for it, Mathers adopted the name Eminem and began seeking out other rappers in Detroit to freestyle with. One of the more prolific members he collaborated with in his youth was Deshaun Dupree Holton, who was killed in Detroit in 2006.

Rise to fame and commercial success
Eminem would come up gradually throughout Detroit’s underground hip hop scene, working his way through countless freestyle battles and before becoming truly established. His debut album, Infinite, was released in 1996 and, while not a shocking success from a sales perspective, began to put him on the map. From there, he was able to begin work on his sophomore effort, The Slim Shady LP. This album would be Eminem’s first true break into mainstream musical success, earning him a Grammy for best rap album in 1999. With that first taste of glory, Eminem’s career hit a launch pad. Ultimately, he would go on to release six more albums including The Eminem Show, Encore, Relapse, Recovery and The Marshall Mathers LP 2.

Critical acclaim
It’s difficult to have a discussion about Eminem’s music without learning of some prestigious award that he’s received. Mathers has collected a staggering number of Grammys throughout his career (at least 13), making him one of the most highly awarded musical artists of all time. He was included on a list of “Immortals” by Rolling Stone Magazine. From a more monetary standpoint, he has sold more than 30 million singles and more than 45 million albums since debuting in 1996.
