Guy Garvey, Richard Jupp, Craig Potter, Mark Potter and Pete Turner are the artists that created Elbow in the 1990s. The original name of the group was Mr. Soft, but after hearing a line in the BBC TV drama “The Singing Detective” where a character says that the word “elbow” is the most sensuous word in the English language, the band’s name was officially changed.

Elbow has released six studio albums since 2001, all of which have been placed in the top 15 of the British album charts. Seven of its singles have made it to the top 40 of the British singles chart. The group blends indie and pop rock to create a singular sound that has earned Elbow many awards as well. In 2008, the band won the Mercury Music Prize for the album The Seldom Seen Kid, and in 2009, it won the Brit Award for Best British Group. In 2012, Elbow released “First Steps,” which was the BBC theme for the 2012 London Olympics.

If you appreciate other bands in this genre like Goldfrapp? and The Charlatans, you can’t miss Elbow’s next live show. Its live performances really keep the fans coming back, so join them and get your tickets now!
