East Carolina Pirates College Football Tickets

East Carolina started playing football in 1932, and it's safe to say its first several years were a struggle. The Pirates began as an independent team and despite intermittent success; wins were often hard to come by. Despite that, however, fans stayed loyal and eventually the program began to turn things around.

The Pirates first big breakthrough came in the 1990s, but it wasn't until Skip Holtz was hired as head coach in 2005 that their turnaround was complete. Under his direction, the Pirates made consecutive bowl games in 2006 and 2007, and helped cement themselves as power in Conference USA.

Although ECU's place in the national stage is relatively new, they have forged some fierce rivalries in the last several decades.
