The Doctor ?
By DaMoose from New Brunswick, NJ on 5/6/2010
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Lighting, Great Sound
Poor Set List
Best For:

Saw the Doobies in Red Bank, NJ in April 2010. Was very disappointed that they didn't include "The Doctor" in their set list. That's argubly their best song, how do you leave it out ? It should have been the opening song or the first encore song.

The Doobie Brothers @ Ferguson NN, Va.
By Dave from Portsmouth Va on 11/24/2008
Crowd Was In To It
Sound could be better, Too Short
Best For:
Adults, Everyone

Lighting - at best was just ok. Cue's were missed - no motion lighting - just front and back Par 64 cans. Sound was disappointing as the kick drum and bass were not heard in the mix as heavy as I would have liked. I'm glad Michael Hossack was out sick - I couldn't stand not hearing 2 great drummers. Guy Allison - great keyboard work throughout the show. Vocals were belting out in fine Doobie style. Show was too short. [$] ticket for 1.5 hours ....... I've seen better shows at Little Creek - free ....

AMAZING Blast from the Past!!!!
By #1 Classic Rock Fan from Highland, CA on 9/8/2008
Better than ever, Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Encores, Great Lighting, Great Sound, Perfect Set List
Ticket scalping prices
Best For:

These two bands put on one of the greatest classic rock shows of all time! Their vocals and harmonies were amazing and carried the lyrics like it was 1977 all over again! The drummer from Grand Funk Railroad is the most incredible drummer of all time and performed an amazing solo. Throughout the evening, the crowd (the oldest I've ever seen at a concert) was singing every word along with the band. I only wish that they could have played all night long! The ONLY negative was the legal scalping that the ticket companies get away with charging [$]for two $40 tickets...

Doobie Brothers Concert Tickets

Throughout the 1970s, many country rock bands came and went, but there were several that stuck around. Among them was the Doobie Brothers, whose unique brand of roots rock has helped them maintain their place in the music world for decades. Though it has been more than 40 years since they burst on the scene, the Doobie Brothers tickets are still a hot commodity.

The Doobie Brothers are an American soul-pop staple. Known for hits like "Black Water," "What a Fool Believes" and "Listen to the Music," this act has racked up a slew of gold and platinum albums, making a name for itself in music history and claiming a spot in the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.

The Doobie Brothers formed in California in 1970; however, their roots reach back to the late 1960s when drummer John Hartman and vocalist Tom Johnston played together in the band Pud, which broke up in 1969. That's when the two started making music with guitarist Patrick Simmons and bassist Dave Shogren.

Although the Doobie Brothers can trace their roots to the late 1960s, it was not until their sophomore album Toulouse Street, when they enjoyed their first widespread success. The 1972 record included a number of hit songs, and among them was "Listen to the Music," which remains a popular song even four decades later. After the 1972 hit, the band saw the stage with Tower of Power, Jeff Beck and the Beach Boys.

After the success of their sophomore album the band released another fan favorite, The Captain and Me, and the next several years brought the Doobie Brothers to new heights. Most music fans will point to the release of What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits as the reason for their surge in popularity. The album featured their first number one single "Black Water," which remains their anthem.

Since then the band has continued to transform its sound, survived a hiatus and sold more than 40 million albums. But the band's undeniable success hasn't gotten to their heads - these guys continue to make music for the dedicated fans that made them what they are today, and they show no sign of stopping. The Doobie Brothers have seen a number of lineup changes, but that hasn't lessened their place in the music world and they remain a popular LIVE act.
