The Master of Comedy
By Bert from Indiana on 7/11/2010
Pros:
Audience Loved It, Great Lighting/Effects, Very Funny
Best For:
Everyone

Saw him for the 6th time in Vegas, this time at the Orleans. Not as nice a place as the late Stardust Hotel, but Don nails it again. Quick wit, insults flying, good stories and singing, the product of 51 years of mastering his craft.

Don Rickles at Foxwoods
By Beachplum from Providence, RI on 1/20/2008
Pros:
A comedic legend
Cons:
Terrible Acoustics
Best For:
True fans of don rickles

We expected a more clubby intimate experience based on our seats. Instead we were very disappointed that a description of the Fox Theatre at Foxwoods was not given. We expected small tables in the front section. The theatre was terribly designed and we had trouble hearing (fyi we are not seniors). I can not recommend Foxwoods as a venue at all.

There are few American performers who are more iconic than Don Rickles. Known as "Mr. Warmth," an ironic moniker in light of his reputation as an insult comic, Rickles has been performing live for more than 50 years. Don’t miss your chance to see this comedy legend in person, and buy your Don Rickles tickets now.

Rickles started his career as an actor - a profession he would return to time and again throughout his storied career - but it wasn’t until he started doing standup comedy in the early 1950s that things really took off for him. Playing mainly out of the Catskills, Rickles earned his reputation as an insult comedian with his witty retorts to hecklers in the audience.

Finding that his insults were more effective than his prepared material, Rickles soon incorporated them into his act, and from there he quickly rose to fame as one of the most popular standup comics in the country.

With numerous appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and several film and television roles during the 1960s and 70s, Rickles further established himself in the hierarchy of American comedy. It’s a place he holds to this day, serving as an inspiration and mentor to generations of comedians.
