The indoor stadium is great and the seats provided an excellent view of the game.

Lions games are always fun, and at least it was not a blowout... a "W" would sure be nice though...

The Detroit Lions are members of the North Division of the NFC in the NFL. The team’s home field is Ford Field located in Detroit proper. Established in 1929 the Lions originally played as the Portsmouth Spartans, an independent football team based out of Ohio. By 1930 the team gained full NFL membership and finished the season with a 5-6-3 record. During this time the soon to be Lions and the Chicago Bears had the same amount of victories after the regular season. In order to determine a winner the two teams played each other, leading to the establishment of the Eastern and Western conferences and a regular championship game beginning in 1933. While successful in competition, demonstrated by the team’s 1932 19-0 win over the Green Bay Packers using only 11 players for the entire game, the team wasn’t working on a small town scale and moved to Detroit in 1934.
By the 1950s the Lions were enjoying the most successes they had ever experienced, making Detroit Lions tickets a hot commodity. They won the League Championship three times in six years, defeating the Cleveland Browns each time. Then in 1958 the departing of a player cast a shadow over the team’s success and began an era referred to as the “Curse of Bobby Layne.” Since that time the Lions have earned a few division championship wins and made several Playoff appearances, but the closest they have gotten to the Super Bowl pinnacle was in 1993 when the Lions won the NFC Central. Still the Detroit Lions continue to roar out on the field against their Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings divisional rivals.
