Denver Broncos Football Tickets

While some franchises have more Super Bowl rings than the Denver Broncos, it’s hard to beat the team’s level of consistency and storied history in the league. For more than 55 years, the Broncos have been regular contenders for the AFC West championship and the fans that pick up Denver Broncos tickets and pack Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium are a big part of the reason why.

Established in 1960, the Denver Broncos were an original franchise of the American Football League. It wasn’t long after the AFL merged with the National Football League in 1970 that the team became a household name. Now, the Denver Broncos are members of the Western Division of the AFC. Currently the team plays home games at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in downtown Denver, Colorado.

Change of pace does the Broncos good
The Broncos were not wildly successful as part of the AFL, and only accumulated a league record of 39-97-4. In 1965, the city of Denver almost lost the franchise when a group of minority partners banded together in a plan to sell the team to interests in Atlanta. The loss was narrowly escaped when two other owners, Alan and Gerald Phipps, bought the team and kept the franchise in Denver.

Shortly after becoming a part of the NFL, the Denver Broncos met their first ever winning season with a 7-5-2 record in 1972. The new era of success saw hometown fans clamoring to get their hands on Denver Broncos tickets. Led by a punishing defense known as the Orange Crush, the Broncos made it to their first post-season where they were subsequently beaten by the Dallas Cowboys 27-10 in 1977.

Bringing home trophies
During the late 1970s and into the 1980s, the Broncos hit a peak that saw them play in eight playoffs and bring home a number of conference and division titles. Throughout the 80s, the Broncos continued to establish themselves as one of the best teams in the league by advancing to Super Bowls in 1986, 87 and 89 behind quarterback John Elway. The Hall of Famer finally brought the Lombardi Trophy to Denver in 1998 when he led the Broncos to their first title with a win against the Green Bay Packers. Never wanting to be outdone, the Orange Crush made it a twofer and swept up another title the next year against the Atlanta Falcons.

Like everything else the Broncos do, they maintain their rivalries with gusto, from their division contentions with the Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers to their fierce grudges against the Cleveland Browns and the New England Patriots. The Denver Broncos are always reaching towards that higher ground.

Although Elway has since retired, the Broncos remain at the top of the AFC West year after year, making the most of star players like Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning. The Broncos returned to the Super Bowl in 2013 and are looking to do so again this season. Don’t miss your chance to get in on the action and see history made at a Denver Broncos game this season.
