My daughter and I attended the Santa Cruz Day Out in Dec 2011. Added bonus that Santa was on the train as well. For the cost, you get photos with Thomas and Santa. I found discounted tickets for certain times of the day (afternoon vs. morning) so it was not as pricey. Being at the Santa Cruz boardwalk makes it even nicer. They also featured a Sir Topham Hat, and blow up Percy, we got lots of photos. Also they had mutliple train sets on display for kids to watch and play. Also the boardwalk merry-go-round was a winner.

It is very simple. If your kids love Thomas and you love your kids having fun then you should go to Day out with Thomas. We have gone 5 times. 3 in CA and 2 in CO. Each place is different, with varied activities. If your child LOVES Thomas it is worth the time, drive and $'s. If they only LIKE Thomas this might not be for you.

The ride was OK. "Thomas" looks nice but the carboose and passenger cars need upgrade. The cars was extremely old. I felt scammed after I watched Jon & Kate plus 8 - not because they have the car on their own but the interior of the car was more antique, nicely decorated.Other activities are OK but not well arranged. Kids with love it but for [$] I as a parent expects to see more.Not recommend to friends to go to the one in St. Thomas.
