Blue Man Group Tickets

Blue Man Group is known worldwide for its performance art pieces that combine music, comedy, multimedia theatrics, science and vaudeville into a unique form of entertainment. The group’s mysterious performance delights audiences and features three bald men who are painted blue, appear to have no ears and remain completely silent throughout the duration of each show. Not uttering a word, the Blue Man Group relies on facial expressions, props and body movement throughout each performance to convey a sense of wonder and imagination. Blue Man Group performances take place at live events in New York City, Chicago, Boston, Tokyo and other locations throughout Europe and the U.S. The Blue Man Group experience can hardly be conveyed through words, so buy your Blue Man Group tickets today to witness the performance firsthand.

The history of the Blue Man Group is as fascinating as the performances themselves. Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton and Chris Wink created what most people now recognize as the iconic bald blue men in the late 1980s as street performers in New York City. As their characters, talents and performances continued to evolve over the following decades, the Blue Man Group has become a widely sought-after theatrical experience by audience of all ages and backgrounds.

After meeting in New York City, the group spent three years perfecting its material by doing street performances. Finally, the three bald blue men were invited to create an off-Broadway show at the LaMaMa theater in New York’s East Village in 1990. The show was received positively by audiences, whose buzz led the Blue Man Group to perform at Lincoln Center’s Serious Fun Festival. That same fall, its iconic show “Tubes” opened, which is a Blue Man Group show staged at Astor Place Theater that has been running since 1991. Although there are multiple blue men now, the act remains true to what the originators first created.

Beyond live performance
The Blue Man Group has gone beyond live performance, expanding its efforts to empower children through education and the arts. In 2013, the Blue Man Group partnered with the Boston Children&#rsquo;s Museum to create the Making Waves exhibit, and in 2007, the group established the Blue School Charter in New York City.

Adding to the mystique of the Blue Man Group is the Blue Man himself, whose origins are no less puzzling than the performances in which he is featured. Although the Blue Man has been around for decades, his founders still can’t quite explain where he came from. Today, there are at least 70 blue men participating in Blue Man Group shows around the world.  Nonetheless, each Blue Man Group performance offers audiences a glimpse into the minds of the three founders, as well as an opportunity to get in touch with their own imaginations.
