Poor Sound System Stole the Show
By Kevin from Walnut Creek, CA on 4/17/2012
Cons:
Just a wall of buzzing, Poor Sound Quality, Shined lights in fan eyes, Vocals drowned by sound
Best For:
People who don't care

I have seen Counting Crows many times. One of their best concerts was with the Wallflowers at the Warfield in S.F. The 4/16/12 concert at the Fox Theatre in Oakland was disappointing. The sound system was awful. There were no distinct instrument sounds for the most part. Just a wall of electronic buzz. All of which drowned out Duritz' vocals. I mean, seriously, they can't figure out the sound?

Was by far the best concert I have ever been too. Loved every minute of it. I hope that they come back soon. Maroon 5 was by far my fave but I would see Counting Crows again.

Counting Crows Concert Tickets

Few bands are more synonymous with the 1990s than Counting Crows. Fronted by enigmatic lead singer Adam Duritz, the California-based group had some of the biggest hits of the decade, and today its loyal group of fans continues to pick up Counting Crows tickets whenever possible.

Counting Crows was formed in the early 90s, when Duritz and the gang began playing acoustic shows around Berkeley and San Francisco. Eventually, the band developed a dedicated following and released its debut album August and Everything in 1993. The album was a big hit and featured a number of popular songs including "Mr. Jones," "Round Here" and "Rain King," all of which remain radio staples decades later.

Throughout the next 10 years, Counting Crows continued to be a mainstay in the pop world. Their second album, Recovering the Satellite, helped cement the band's place in the industry, and by 2000 not many people were unfamiliar with Counting Crows.

While they may not have as many radio-ready hits as they did in 1990s, Counting Crows still remain a popular act, and 2012's album Underwater Sunshine well on the Billboard 200 charts. Whether it's "Big Yellow Taxi" or "Hanginaround," Counting Crows' most iconic songs will not fade from the public consciousness anytime soon.
