Common Concert Tickets

Hip hop artist Common has been influencing the music industry since he came onto the scene in the early 1990s. Following in the footsteps of A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul, Common continues to foster a dialogue between society and artists in a way that is cerebral, relatable and relevant. Buy your Common tickets today to listen to one of hip hop's most respected lyricists.

Common, aka Lonnie Lynn, was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. The city was a source of inspiration for his music, and Common soon became synonymous with that city's hip hop culture. Widely considered one of the most prominent faces in intelligent rap, Common took a hard-line stance against gangsta rap, the dominant faction of hip hop that emerged in the late 1980s.

The popularity of violence, misogyny and greed in rap music prompted Common to write one of his most memorable songs - "I Used to Love H.E.R." The track showed Common's distaste for the direction that rap was taking, and it spawned a lyrical rivalry with West Coast gangsta rap group, Westside Connection.

Always willing to push the boundaries with his lyrics and be highly experimental with his sound, Common produced two Top 20 rap single hits: "The Light" and "The 6th Sense." His Kanye West-produced album, Be, debuted at No. 2 on the Pop Charts in 2005 and garnered four Grammy nominations.
