The Game Could Have Gone Either Way
By scoony87 from Loveland, CO on 10/27/2008
Pros:
Back and Forth Action, Great Atmosphere, The Crowd Loved It
Cons:
Crowd's disrespect of opp, No opposing team product
Best For:
Everyone

It was a terrific game. The teams were evenly matched and it was exciting to watch plays develop on both ends of the ice. As much as I enjoy watching the Avalanche win, I also enjoy the game of hockey overall. The Buffalo Sabres were worthy opponents and I think I was amazed at their fan base in Colorado.

Flyers Fans show up big time in Colorado
By Colorado_Al from Western Colorado on 10/18/2008
Pros:
Visiting Fans rule
Cons:
Refs killed the show
Best For:
No One

Even though both teams were not at their best, I have to give points to the visiting Flyers Fans... they were as laud as the homers. It could have been a great game except that every time the game showed signs of picking up, the refs would call a penalty and kill the speed of the game.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey Tickets

With a name like the Avalanche, it may come as no surprise that fans who pick up Colorado Avalanche tickets are looking for landslide victories and some serious battles. The NHL franchise is part of the Western Conference of the NHL, but it started off as a member of the rival World Hockey Association (WHA).

Originally the Avalanche were located in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, and played as the Quebec Nordiques. The Nordiques played for Canada until the 1994-95 season. After finishing last in their division several years in a row, the Nordiques were able to secure several trades and picks that saw the team’s on-ice performance rise back to success.

Regardless of an uptick in the Nordiques’ play the team was still in financial straits and was subsequently sold in 1995 and moved to the States. The Nordiques were sold to the COMSAT Entertainment Group out of Denver, hence the relocation and renaming that followed. The team fell to the fate of many teams after league mergers and started on a downward spiral.

Later that year the Colorado Avalanche won their first game against the Detroit Redwings 3–2. As a professional ice hockey team, the Colorado Avalanche are current members of the Western Conference in the NHL. Located in Denver proper, the team plays their home games at Pepsi Center.

The Avalanche completed their initial season with a record of 47–25–10 and won the division. After defeating the Vancouver Canucks and the Chicago Blackhawks in the playoffs, the Avalanche progressed to take down the Florida Panthers and bring home the Stanley Cup Finals triumph. "The Avs," as Colorado fans have been known to call the team, had instant success their freshman year in the Centennial State, sweeping the Florida Panthers in the finals and becoming the first team to take home the Stanley Cup following a relocation.

The Avs reached the finals once again during the 2000-01 season and were able to beat the New Jersey Devils in game seven to return the cup to the Rockies. The heightened level of play and on-ice success earned the hearts of hometown fans and saw Colorado Avalanche tickets become a must have item. Aside from their rivalry with the Detroit Red Wings, the Avalanche has racked up contentions with Minnesota Wild, Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames through their coarse style of play.

With a slew of conference and division championships under their helmets, as well as several Presidents' Trophies, the Colorado Avalanche continue to heat up the ice as they blaze the trail for their next Stanley Cup win.
