Cleveland Browns Football Tickets

Aside from a brief period in the 1990s when they suspended operations, the Cleveland Browns have been a staple of professional football since the 1940s. With a legendary lineup of iconic players and coaches in the Browns history, the franchise enjoys a passionate fan base like few other organizations, so it’s no wonder Cleveland Browns tickets remain so popular.

The Cleveland Browns are members of the North Division of the AFC in the NFL. The team’s home field is FirstEnergy Stadium, formerly called the Cleveland Browns Stadium located in Cleveland proper. The Browns date back to 1946 when the team was a member in the now defunct All-America Football Conference. They were the most successful franchise in the league’s short history, and they continued the trend once they became a member of the National Football League in 1950. Not only were the Browns a powerhouse in the AAFC, but the team stunned when they broke onto the field and tore down the Philadelphia Eagles defense for a 35-10 win on their first NFL game.

The Browns’ first years in the NFL were met with success including championships in 1950, 54 and 55. Their achievement could have waned, but the arrival of running back Jim Brown in 1957 helped lead the Browns to another title in 1964. Popularity of the team soared higher than before and Cleveland Browns tickets became a hot commodity.

The late 1990s brought a standstill to the Browns’ momentum. The NFL declared that the Browns would be deactivated for a short time while a new team and stadium was to be built. In 1999 the Browns had rejoined the NFL with high expectations, but struggled from the beginning. By the middle of the season, they had a horrible 0-7 record on the way to a final 2-14 end, which was the worst in franchise history.

In 2002 the team slid over to the AFC North, putting them in direct competition with new division rivals the Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens. Over the team’s history rowdy fans have come to be known as The Dawg Pound, infamous for attending games wearing dog masks and throwing dog biscuits at opposing players. The Browns have earned many division championship wins and made several Playoff appearances, though they have yet to clinch that desirable Super Bowl title.

Although the Browns have yet to replicate the successes of the 50s and 60s, it hasn’t dampened their fans’ enthusiasm for the team. Each season begins with a renewed optimism that they’ll be able to recapture their previous glory days, and with a crop of young, talented players there’s no reason not to think that’s the case. Don’t miss out on this season’s action. Buy your Cleveland Browns tickets now!
