Children of Eden Theater Tickets

Children of Eden is a musical play told in two acts written by Stephen Schwartz and directed originally by John Caird. Drawing largely upon the Book of Genesis for subject matter, Act I of the play focuses on Adam and Eve as well as Cain and Abel, while Act II predominantly touches upon the tale of Noah’s Arc. Originally having been written under a different name, Family Tree, in 1986 for use with a high school church theater group in Illinois, Schwartz reimagined the play into a full-length musical that has experienced considerable success. Children of Eden tickets would make a wonderful gift for any theater buff you know.

Caird directed the original production of Children of Eden. Starring Ken Page, the show opened at the Prince Edward Theater in London’s West End on January 8, 1991, but closed shortly thereafter on April 6 of the same year following poor reviews. Since then, the show has been put on at numerous professional and amateur levels in several countries. Children of Eden, despite its poor showing in its initial debut, has achieved something of a cult status among avid theater fans. Having never made it to Broadway and appearing somewhat infrequently now, the show is a must-see if presented with the opportunity.
