By sndgod2012 from Tucson,AZ on 9/9/2010
Pros:
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Entertaining, Great Lighting, Great Sound, Memorable
Cons:
Not Full House
Best For:
Adults

The whole production was very good and interesting. Sound was crystal clear, voices well balanced to music accompanists and used lighting creatively-artistically. Production crew were polite and knowledgable. Would attend a future concert should it become available. Ray

CELTIC WOMAN
By CHERYL from OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA on 8/8/2010
Pros:
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Encores, Great Lighting, Great Sound, Perfect Set List
Cons:
Too Short

CELTIC WOMAN IS A BEAUTIFUL SHOW, LISA, CHLOE, LYNN, AND MAIREAD ARE FABULOUS! IT IS A MUST SEE SHOW. THEIR VOICES ARE ANGELIC AND MAIREAD IS THE MOST TALENTED FIDDLE PLAYER YOU WILL EVER SEE! (THE REST OF THE BAND TAKES TOP HONORS AS WELL!) I HAVE SEEN CELTIC WOMAN TWICE THIS YEAR. ONCE IN LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS AND AGAIN IN TULSA, OKLAHOMA. I WILL ENJOY SEEING THEM AGAIN TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW IN SEPTEMBER AT THE POPEJOY HALL.

Interesting to say the most
By GMA from Sackof tomatoes (sacramento) on 5/10/2010
Best For:
Adults

This was not what I expected for a live consert. At the price of the tickets to get into the Sac show I expected a lot more than just some gals up pranc'n around on stage to can'ed music. Heard a lot of complaints from others around me about the prices vs what they got from a show. Most said buy the DVD from the orginal show and don't waist your money. then again having been at the film'n in ireland (such as you saw on PBS) and being in the industry I would have to say for a road production it was not bad for what they had to work with. Anyone thinking they were going to see the orginal PBS Video would be disapointed at the road show and leave thinking that they missed something.

Great Show in Sioux Falls S.D.
By DK, now a Celtic Woman fan from Beatrice, NE on 3/10/2010
Pros:
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Encores, Great Lighting
Cons:
Had to end
Best For:
Everyone

Heard them October 13th, 2009 at Washington Pavilion (a great venue). They started with a stunning new version of "Dawn, the Sky, and the Sun" that just made chills run down your spine. Nice to hear some new songs from them as about a third was new material (2 hours long with over 20 songs). The new members (Alex and Lynn) showed that they were up to the task of being in Celtic Woman. Lynn did a great version of "Dulaman", and Alex did "You'll be In My Heart" from the Disney move Tarzan. All were wonderful together. "Isle of Hope" was the great theme song for the tour, with a haunting pipe solo and Chloe leading off as the others came in. And then there was Mairead, the "flying fiddler" who wowed everyone with her stunning violin work. We gave them five standing ovations, and the new song "O America" just brought the house down (great encore too). I have got to see them again soon!

Celtic Woman Tickets

While the title of this group is singular, there is more than one Celtic Woman singing. The group is made up of six talented women: Chloe Agnew, Orla Fallon, Lisa Kelley, Meav Ni Mhaolchatha, Deidre Shannon, and Mairead Nesbitt. Lynn Hilary is the most recent member of the group, after Mhaolchatha took time away from the group to focus on a solo career and Alex Sharpe is replacing Kelley while she is on maternity leave.

Celtic Woman has released a number of albums, including their self titled album Celtic Woman, A Christmas Celebration and A New Journey. They have had albums go platinum not only in the states, but also in South Africa, and gold in Australia and Japan. Celtic Woman has held the honor of appearing in the No. 1 position for the Billboard World Music Charts for 95 consecutive weeks.

Television appearances for Celtic Woman have included Today Show with Regis & Kelly, The Megan Mullaly Show and they have also performed on Brian Boitano’s NBC Skating Spectacular. They have even held the honor of performing at the White House to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

These six women in Celtic Woman are not only singers, but some of them have other musical abilities including the violin, fiddle, harp, and piano. Celtic Woman releases more than just CD’s. Many of their performances can be viewed on DVD’s from the songs on their albums. They are more than just vocal artists; they are performers.

As their name hints, the group performs traditional Irish songs, including a few modern songs. They have embarked on four U.S. tours that have been incredibly successful, selling out a number of large venues from Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall to Boston’s Opera House.

Celtic Woman also had a PBS special which has aired over 3,000 times since its debut in March 2005. Their Musical Director and Composer David Downes not only works with the group, but has created his own CD releases including Saltwater and The Rusted Wheel of Things. He has also spent time working on the compositions for film scores such as Thou Shalt Not Kill, The Enemy Within, The Hunt For Red Willie at the Peacock Theatre among others.

Seeing this group live in concert is one incredible performance that takes you straight to Ireland, no passport needed! You can enjoy this great show now that they are on tour in the U.S. from February through May.

Other great shows to check out include the story of the Wicked Witch of the West with Wicked Tickets. Everyone has seen the Wizard of Oz and has heard Dorothy’s side of the story, but what really happened with the other Witches of Oz? Find out by attending the best musical around, Wicked! Also, don’t miss out on yet another hilarious show by the one and only Mel Brooks with Young Frankenstein tickets. The film version has been adapted for the stage, involving some side-splitting funny musical numbers by Dr. Frankenstein and his monster! Don’t miss out on the hilarity!
