Casa Valentina Theater Tickets

Harvey Fierstein has been a fixture on Broadway for decades as an actor, writer, composer and director. His latest effort, Casa Valentina, is his first written work in nearly 30 years, but it once again shows off this virtuoso’s exuberant talent. The story of heterosexual, cross-dressing men living in the 1960s, Casa Valentina explores the nuances of human sexuality and the way people who choose alternative lifestyles fit into modern society. You won’t want to miss this latest creation from one of the gems of American theater, so buy your Casa Valentina tickets today.

In the 1960s, the Catskill Mountains, not far from New York City, were the site of summer retreats for all sorts of city dwellers. Famous for its so-call "Borscht Belt" comedy circuit, where Jewish comedians plied their trade and made names for themselves, as well as the kind of upper-middle-class vacation enclaves that inspired the film Dirty Dancing, the Catskills were also home to a different type of retreat.

In Casa Valentina, Fierstein tells the story of a group of middle-class family men who make their way to the Catskills in order to engage in their favorite hobby - cross-dressing. But they are soon forced to grapple with the possibility of becoming an official organization and the recognition that would bring them.
