BRET MICHAELS IS A TRUE ROCK GOD!!!!
By Angel Eyes from Ripley, New York on 9/6/2012
Pros:
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Encores, Great fan interaction, Great Lighting, Great Sound, Outshining The Headliners, Perfect Set List
Cons:
They Did Not Headline, Too Short
Best For:
Everyone
I saw Poison and Def Leopard in Concert on August 17th at Darien Lake NY. Poison absolutely blew me away. I came home and couldn't talk for 2 weeks my voice was so strained. Bret Michaels wound up on his knees numerous times during their set. Reaching out to his fans, touching them. Playing with them at times. He even stole somebody's hat.The set, lighting, songs, everything was awesome. I wish they would have been the headliners that they should have been. Where Poison came out and played not only with the fans but each other. Def Leopard was very stiff. They NEVER reached out to a fan. NOT ONE! The smoke machine Def Leopard was enough to choke a horse and we were at an outdoor venue. The use of the rapid flashing strobe lights was ridiculous, unhealthy for a lot of Bret's fans that suffer seizure disorders like myself. Poison doesn't use them. Most of the songs Def Leopard played. Nobody knew. Def Leopard's set was so rehearsed they couldn't be bothered with the fans. Half the people left after Poison played anyway. I would've paid the price for the tickets if Poison played all night. I will NEVER go to another DEF LEOPARD show. They have no respect for the people that got them where they are today. Unlike Poison. Bret Michaels is ALWAYS telling and showing his fans how much he loves them. They return that love and respect to him 100 times over. Next year I want to see Poison/ Bret Michaels Band step up and take their proper place as the headlining act of the tour. They have NO REASON to take a backseat to ANYONE! EVER!
