Best tennis tournament for fans!! Great access to the players with the open practice courts and easy to grab good seats for your fav player if you plan ahead. Facility is open and beautiful (many of the Majors or so crowded and cramped!!)

The BNP Paribas Showdown takes place annually in February or March and marks the beginning of the tennis season in North America. Since 2009’ the Showdown has attracted fans to the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City to watch players become stars. The official name for this major event is the BNP Paribas Showdown for the Billie Jean King Cup. Originally featuring only the four women who won the Grand Slam singles competition the previous year’ men have been permitted to compete in the event since 2011. Fans should expect to see groups of four men and four women play in single round knock-out tennis semi finals. The winners of those rounds face off against each other in a best-of-three championship match.

The 2014 event will see household names Novak Djokavic and Andy Murray compete for the title. Djokavic has won six Grand Slam competitions and is considered by many fans as one of the best tennis players of all time. Andy Murray is presently ranked number four in the world and defeated Novak Djokavic in the US Open in 2012.
