Billy Idol Concert Tickets

English rocker Billy Idol first gained attention as a musician with the punk band Generation X. When the band separated in 1981, Idol moved to New York City and transformed himself into a solo act. He released an EP titled Don’t Stop later that year, but highlights on the album such as “Dancing With Myself” took time to become popular. His first full-length album was released a year later to more success, and showcased Idol’s transformation from a punk rocker to part of the 80s mainstream. Billy Idol is considered part of the “Second British Invasion” along with artists such as Duran Duran, A Flock of Seagulls, The Police and Culture Club. Billy Idol tickets are sure to bring listeners the best of both punk and new wave.

Rebel Yell, released in 1984, brought Billy Idol more wide-ranging fame and sold over two million copies. The album demonstrated Idol’s ability to mesh together multiple genres of music, and included the hits “Rebel Yell” and “Eyes Without A Face.” His next album, Whiplash Smile, was less of a commercial success, but still widely embraced. While working on his fourth album in 1990, Idol suffered injuries in a motorcycle accident that would slow down his music career for the next decade. Idol released Devil’s Playground in 2005 to the delight of his international fan base.
