Big Fish Musical Tickets

Big Fish originated as a novel, written in 1998, by author Daniel Wallace. Later adapted for the big screen, Big Fish the film was directed by Tim Burton. The novel and film of epic proportions sparked interest in a Broadway production of Big Fish, which married points of the story's original plotline with a new book by screenwriter John August and choreography by Tony Award-winner Susan Stroman. With experience working on "The Scottsboro Boys" and "The Producers," Stroman gives Big Fish an exciting new take on Big Fish's inconceivable adventures. The musical's choreography plays on the music and lyrics of Tony-nominated composer Andrew Lippa, creating a one-of-a-kind theater experience. Score your Big Fish tickets today!

Before the release of the 2003 film, Big Fish screenwriter John August pitched his idea to adapt it for Broadway to producers Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen. After August's pitch to the producers, he teamed up with composer Andrew Lippa, who had already suggested it, and over nine year's time the duo would collaborate on Big Fish - the musical of epic proportions. The musical production introduced original songs and scenes, as well as scenes based on the book, including Edward Blooms' stories of joining the circus, kissing mermaids and fighting dragons.

When Edward Bloom, the man with a larger-than-life past, falls ill, his estranged son reaches out to his father in an attempt to separate fact from fiction before his father's final chapter closes. Tall tales involving a witch, a giant, Siamese twins and one big fish surround "the man behind the myth." Set in the American South, Edward Bloom plays up his charismatic charm as he shares his life stories, leaving everyone except for his skeptical son on the edge of their seats. Discover the truth about Bloom as his son revisits his father's seemingly impossible stories of epic adventure.
