Baltimore Ravens Tickets

After the Colts bolted for Indianapolis, Baltimore was in need of a great team, and they certainly got it with the Ravens. Since 1996, the franchise has been a staple of the city and achieved an impressive level of success during that time, making Baltimore Ravens tickets a hot commodity.

The Baltimore Ravens are members of the North Division of the AFC. Established in 1996, the team’s title is a nod to “The Raven” by writer Edgar Allan Poe who spent a lot of time in Baltimore. Currently the team plays home games at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore proper.

The Ravens came into being through a controversy that saw the then owner of the Cleveland Browns attempt to move his franchise to Baltimore. After much haggling and a deal that saw the shell of the Browns remain and the rest move, the Baltimore Ravens were born.

Happy to have a professional football team in town since the loss of their beloved Baltimore Colts, local fans snatched up Baltimore Ravens tickets in anticipation of the new hometown pride. The Riptide Rush triumphed over the Oakland Raiders in their opening game. Unfortunately the team would not keep this momentum and they finished 4-12. Over the next few years the Ravens continued to win individual games, never being able to tackle an entire season.

The short life of the team means that they have yet to build many rivalries. Nonetheless, in professional sports contentions come into play the moment a team steps on the field. For the Ravens the rivalries fall down the division lines in the form of the Pittsburg Steelers, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. Matching up the hard-hitting play style of the Ravens and the Steelers, it’s easy to see why this rivalry is top-notch.

Despite a slow start, it wasn’t long before the Ravens began to show signs of the perennial contenders they would become. After steadily improving their record, the Ravens brought it from behind in a wild card round and went on to win the Super Bowl XXXV title against the New York Giants in 2000. The team certainly seized the opportunity, crushing the New York Giants 34-7 to capture its first Lombardi Trophy.

Ravens fans had a taste of success and it would prove something they’d get used to. The new millennium brought a new hope to the Baltimore Ravens, seeing the team develop one of the most fearsome defenses in NFL history. Over the first decade of the 21st century the Ravens would make seven Playoff appearances and bring home two division championship successes.

After several moderately successful years, 2008 proved to be a game-changer for the Ravens. They welcomed the likes of quarterback Joe Flacco and running back Ray Rice, and would not be far from the playoffs any year since. The duo, helped out by a tenacious defense, led the Ravens to their second Super Bowl victory in 2012 with a win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Today, the Ravens enjoy one of the most passionate fan bases in the National Football League, and with so much success it's easy to see why. Don’t miss you chance to see them play! Buy you Baltimore Ravens tickets now!
