Baltimore Orioles Tickets

Be sure to wear your orange, black and white colors to support the beloved Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park. For decades, the Baltimore Orioles have been a source of pride and honor for Baltimore. The team was established in 1901, but spent its beginning years as a major league club in Milwaukee as the Milwaukee Brewers. The team was then moved to St. Louis where it became the St. Louis Browns. In 1953, the team made its third and final move after being purchased by business man and investor Clarence Miles. Almost immediately, the team was renamed the Baltimore Orioles. The name was in honor of the official state bird of Maryland.

A new name, a new team
The newly located and named Orioles received a warm welcome from the Baltimore community. After a two-game split against the Tigers in Detroit, the Orioles came home to a welcoming parade with an estimated 350,000 fans throughout the streets of Maryland. The team had a sellout crowd of 46,354 people later in the afternoon for the team’s first home opener. The game was a 3-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox. In September 1954, Paul Richards came on board as the club’s manager and general manager. He famously proclaimed, “I’m running the show.” Within six years, Richards whipped the team into shape and laid the foundation for a success. The way in which Richards molded the team’s fundamentals would later be called the “Oriole Way.”

Wild success
Throughout the 1960s, the Orioles had numerous talented players and skilled coaches who drove them through nearly two decades of success like Frank Robinson and Cal Ripken Jr. This period included 18 consecutive winning seasons from 1968 to 1985. The Orioles soon became the team to beat and the winni?ngest team in baseball. Though they experienced great success, their 1983 season is still talked about. The Orioles finished first in the American League East with a record of 98 wins and 64 losses. The season came to a triumphant close by claiming the 1983 World Series title, their first since 1970, over the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Orioles play at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The park, constructed back in the early 1990s, is considered one of the retro major league ballparks. Though new, it still embodies the classic look of an old-fashioned park, making it the perfect place for a game.

Although the Orioles have struggled to find success in the past decade, they are fully equipped with players that have the talent to thrive this upcoming season. Make sure to buy your Baltimore Orioles tickets today!
