Baltimore Orioles Baseball Tickets

Those interested in taking in a game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards will need both Baltimore Orioles tickets and orange, black and white clothing. The clubhouse was established in 1984, making it one of the original eight teams in the American League's charter franchise. With a loyal fan base, beautiful park and lengthy history, it's no wonder why the Baltimore Orioles are one of the most beloved teams in Major League Baseball.

Despite being in Baltimore now, the team first called Milwaukee, Wis., home. In Wisconsin, the team went by the name the Milwaukee Brewers before being move to St. Louis. Mo., and undergoing a name change to the St. Louis Browns. Approximately 52 years later, the team made its final move to Baltimore in 1954, where it was named the Orioles after the official state bird.

After taking a few years to settle into its home, the franchise earned a following thanks to multiple American League pennants. Experiencing their main glory years between the late 1960s into the 1970s, the Birds have acquired many titles. Touting four pennants and two World Series championships in a six-year period, this team has got the stuff to back up any talk they lay out there.

The Orioles' history is peppered with memorable seasons, but fans will certainly remember 1983. Thanks to an MVP performances from a young Ripken, the Birds won 98 games and captured their third World Series title - and first since 1970 - by beating a high powered the Philadelphia Philliess team in five games.

Orioles' fans also have a long history of team members earning the Most Valuable Player accolade. The great Brooks Robinson (third baseman) was selected in 1964, Frank Robinson (outfielder) earned the title in 1966, Boog Powell (first baseman) was honored with it in 1970, and the great Cal Ripken Jr. (shortstop) was selected in 1983 and 1991.

Though success has been fleeting since 1983, the Orioles have been blessed with a wealth of young talent in years since and are ready to once again challenge the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox for supremacy in the American League East. Fans declare that an O's game is a great baseball experience for the whole family! Whether you are a long-time fan, a Birds newcomer or just looking for the perfect summer day activity, an Orioles game is where it's at.
