Amon Amarth Concert Tickets

The Swedish death metal band, Amon Amarth, has been producing heavy, melodic rock hits since the group was formed in 1992. Known for songs that deal with Viking mythology and history, the group transformed the metal scene in Sweden and shows no signs of slowing down. Buy your Amon Amarth tickets today and catch a performance of one of the most successful rock bands in Swedish history.

Amon Amarth is comprised of vocalist Johan Hegg, guitarists Olavi Mikkonen and Johan Söderberg, bassist Ted Lundström and drummer Fredrik Andersson. They recorded their first demo, Thor Arises, in 1993. Their sound is similar to Opeth and Six Feet Under. Although never officially released by a record company, it caught the attention of hardcore metal fans and encouraged the group to produce The Arrival of the Fimbul Winter in 1994, and Sorrow Throughout the Nine Worlds in 1996.

Their albums are based on the Golden Age of the Vikings, reveling in Scandinavian mythology and the harsh and sometimes brutal lifestyle of the ancient Norsemen. Every album they have produced alludes to some aspect of Viking lifestyle - 1998's Once Sent From the Golden Hall refers to Valhalla, the heavenly hall of fallen heroes. The Fate of the Norns, from 2004, takes inspiration from the three female deities that rule the fates of gods and men, and 2006's With Oden On Our Side calls on the oldest and most powerful god in Norse mythology.
