Allegiance: A New American Musical Theater Tickets

A new show is coming to Broadway! Called Allegiance: A New American Musical, the production follows a heroic story set during the Japanese American internment of World War II. Featuring the Kimura family and their life after Pearl Harbor, the family is sent to an internment camp in Wyoming after President Roosevelt forced the evacuation of about 120,000 Japanese people from the West Coast. Come explore this important part of American history by getting your Allegiance: A New American Musical tickets now.

The production focuses on WWII veteran Sam Kimura and his sister, and their struggle to choose between loyalty to their family and that to their country. George Takei, well known for his role in the popular television show Star Trek, plays Sam. Takei took a personal interest in the show, as his father struggled to help him and his family during their internment at the Rohwer Relocation Center in Arkansas.

Takei had the chance to speak with Jay Kuo, composer, lyricist and co-author of the book the show is based on, and Lorenzo Thione, co-author and producer, about his experiences, and they decided that this dark chapter of American history must be shared with audiences and told in a way that highlights the struggles that these people went through.
