|Often compared to the likes of Metallica, Killswitch Engage, Iron Maiden, Cannibal Corpse and other leaders of the genre, All That Remains has established itself as one of the leading metal bands of all time. The group has undergone a number of changes in personnel throughout the years, but its usual touring roster consists of Oli Herbert, Mike Martin, Jason Costa, Philip Labonte and Jeanne Sagan. The group has become known for its inventive lyricism, shredding guitar sounds and brilliant stage presence. Take in a wonder of the heavy metal genre by purchasing your All That Remains tickets now!
All That Remains was actually, in a sense, born out of another band. Labonte had been performing as a vocalist for another metal group, Shadows Fall, but left the band over creative differences in the early 2000s. Before departing, he had begun his own side project, and that group eventually became All That Remains. The group began playing together in the Boston area in late 2001 and released a record by 2002. That album, Behind Silence and Solitude, was put out on Prosthetic Records that March. While it wasn’t a massive success from a sales standpoint, it did garner the group a stronger touring presence in the Northeast. Continuing to develop its sound, All That Remains released its sophomore effort, This Darkened Heart, in 2004 to a steadily growing fan base.
Rise to fame
The first true commercial breakthrough for All That Remains came with the release of the band’s third album. That album, entitled The Fall of Ideals, was put out in the summer of 2006 and experienced much more success than either album that had preceded it. Driven largely by the success of the three hit singles, “This Calling,” “Six” and “The Air That I Breathe,” The Fall of Ideals sold 100,000 copies in its first year, solidifying the band as a serious contender in the heavy metal landscape. With the newfound attention it had gained, the group was able to expand its touring presence across the entirety of the U.S. and much of North America. As its sales increased and its concerts drew larger audiences, All That Remains continued to develop and write new music for its upcoming third project.
Since the release of The Fall of Ideals, All That Remains has put out at least four more albums. These titles include Overcome, For We Are Many, A War You Cannot Win and The Order of Things, which were released in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2015. Though it has taken brief hiatuses, the group remains active and touring as of 2015. Metal fans from all corners of the genre will find something to enjoy in the music of All That Remains, so grab your tickets today.
