Alabama Concert Tickets

Though many groups today are able to mix country and rock genres together, the pioneers of the concept were certainly the band Alabama. The group emerged in the late 1970s and made it cool to listen to both unique styles of jamming. Nowadays fans young and old pick up Alabama tickets to see the true performance band in action.

Despite Alabama's ability to transcend genres, the group is pure country at heart. Formed by first cousins Randy Owens, lead vocal and rhythm guitar, and Teddy Gentry, vocals and bass, the duo began singing together at church in their hometown of Lookout Mountain, Alabama. Before creating Alabama, both young men performed in a slew of other local groups prior to teaming up with their other cousin, Jeff Cook in 1969 and becoming Young Country.

After college the group went through another name change, calling themselves Wildcountry and adding Bennet Vartanian as the drummer. The foursome started writing their own music and by 1974, Vartanian left the group and was replaced with Rick Scott. The members changed their name to Alabama in 1977 and started to earn praise among fans and critics alike with songs such as "My Home's in Alabama," "Tennessee River" and "I Wanna Come Over."

Alabama continues to release albums like 2010’s Setlist: The Very Best of Alabama Live, tour and work with top entertainers like Luke Bryan and Sheryl Crow in charity work such as 2011’s Bama Rising Fund to benefit tornado victims. Don’t miss you chance to hear all their classic and new music! Buy your Alabama tickets today!
