Too short rip off, over by 9pm
Excellent concert [...]
I have been an Al Green fan from day one. The concert was great I just think that he should have included more of his own hits and less of the unfamiliar songs including all the gospel stuff and other groups hits. Al Green has enough of his own hit songs to have an excellent show.
For oldies fans.
Al still sounds great. Although it would have been better if he had performed more of his most popular hits. This was a true disappointment.
The Great Reverend Al Green was wonderful. However, he could barely make up up for the delays, the poor middle act, SoulLive, who appeared to be practicing or jamming for their own entertainment, and the disorganized presentation of the show. The poor show presentation almost drove us away before Al Green ever walked onto the stage, and I am a long-time, devoted fan. Why not start the concert at 9P, when Al Green is here, and be sure to keep the Neville group, who saved the first three hours from being a total disaster.
Al Green did his best and we loved it but he never came out for an encore and the crowd clapped for at least 10 min.
Al Green is too awesome. He still has it after over 30 years of performing. His voice is crystal clear and he gives one hell of a concert! Chicago House of Blues has a treat coming in Oct. 07.
I've seen Al Green several times, and this was the worse. I didn't mind paying over [...] for the ticets each...if he would have simply sang instead of letting the crowd do it. At one point he sang five songs of other artists..and that isn't what I paid to hear. I mean, Al Green has a song catalog of over 100 songs...so why would he sing Temptations, Otis, etc.? This was a real disappointment.
My experience was that Al Green's is a great legendary performer, he just need to start his show on time.
Went only to see Etta James and she did not show up. It was my anniversary and we flew to Dallas, stayed in a hotel, rented a limo, ate a nice dinner and went to see Etta sing our wedding song. She did not show [...]
