A Streetcar Named Desire Theater Tickets

Tennessee Williams is widely recognized as one of the best American playwrights of all time, and A Streetcar Named Desire is among his most well-known works. The 1947 play has become a standard production of theater companies over the last several decades, and the popularity of A Streetcar Named Desire tickets has not lessened.

The now iconic story follows the troubles of Blanche DuBois, a fading Southern belle whose life is slowly falling apart. With her troubles mounting, she travels to New Orleans to visit her sister Stella and her brutish husband Stanley. Under increasing stress, Blanche quickly begins to unravel and she starts to butt heads with Stanley.

When the play first opened, it featured performances from some of the most well-known actors of the era. The first run included Marlon Brando, who went on to earn an Academy Award nomination for the film adaptation several years later, as well as Jessica Tandy, who earned a Tony for her performance as Blanche.

Over the years, many big names have continued to star in revivals of Streetcar, ranging from John C. Reilly and James Gandolfini to Rachel Weisz and Cate Blanchett.
