Giants’ colors are Blue, Red, White, and Gray.
The New York Giants have several nicknames, including Big Blue Wrecking Crew, Big Blue, G-Men, the Jints, and Big Blue Ballers. When the team was established they were legally named the “New York Football Giants” in order to distinguish them from the baseball team of the same name.
Their current logo has blue lowercased “ny” outlined in red. The “y” underlines the “n.” They have an alternate logo of Giants Stadium with a Giants player throwing a football from inside it, which was created in 2000.
The Giants were established in 1925, and were one of the first teams to join the NFL when the league was created in 1920.
The Giants currently do not have a mascot.
Interesting Tidbits
The New York Giants have played at five different stadiums during the course of their time in the NFL. From 1925-1955 they played at Polo Grounds. Yankee Stadium was their home from 1956-1974. From there, the Giants moved to Yale Bowl from 1973-1974, and moved for a short stint to Shea Stadium for the 1975 season. Finally, they settled in Giants Stadium from 1976 to today.

The New York Giants played a team of Notre Dame All-Stars at Polo grounds to help raise money for the New York City unemployed. The game raised $100,000 for the homeless.
Their best season was in 1986 with a record of 14-2 and their worst season was in 1966 with a record of 1-12-1.
By their third season in the NFL, they carried the best record in the league with 11-1-1, and were awarded the NFL Title.

History

In 1925, the New York Giants became one of five teams that joined the NFL. Their first game was played on October 4, 1925 against the New Britain in New Britain, Connecticut. The Giants shut-out the New Britain 26 – 0. During that same season, the New York Giants finished with an 8 – 4 record. Two years later, the New York Giants ended their season with the best record in the NLF, 11 -1 -1. The New York Giants went on to earn the NFL Championship title. In 1930, the Giants played a team of Notre Dame All Stars in order to raise funds for the unemployed in the New York area. During the game, the Giants refused to allow the Notre Dame team to score. The Giants managed to raise approximately $100,000 and the game soon established the credibility of the professional game.
Over the next 14 years, the New York Giants experienced successful seasons and earned spots in the NFL Championship game eight times. Out of those, the New York Giants took home the title twice. During this victorious period, the New York Giants witnessed Hall of Fame coach Steve Owen and Hall of Fame players Tuffy Leemans, Red Badgro and Mel Hein. The New York Giants continued to dominate the league during the late 1930s. Their third NFL Championship title came during the 1938 season when they defeated the Green Bay Packers 23 – 17. The New York Giants won their next NFL Championship 18 years later with the assistance of Hall of Fame players Frank Gifford, Roosevelt Brown and Sam Huff. The Giant’s 1958 NFL Championship game lose to the Indianapolis Colts in overtime has been considered one of the more pivotal moments in NFL history by increasing the NFL’s acceptance into the American sports culture.
During the next 14 years, the New York Giants found themselves battling dreadful seasons, player retirements and poor records. The team’s success rapidly began a downward spiral. In 1973, the Giants racked up only 23 wins in six NFL seasons. The New York Giants moved into their new stadium, the Meadowlands, in New Jersey in 1976. At the beginning of 1979, the New York Giants began building the stepping stones necessary to launch them back as a serious contender in the league. During that same year’s draft pick, the Giants chose Phil Simms. Two years later they drafted Lawrence Taylor who ended up earning the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year awards. For the first time since the early 1960s, the Giants made the Playoffs. After a short-lived strike, the Giants received a new head coach, Bill Parcells. Despite a difficult first year with Parcells, the Giants completed successful records and advanced to several post-season rounds. In 1986, the New York Giants finally won their first NFL Championship since 1956 after they defeated the Denver Broncos 39 – 20 in Super Bowl XXI. Four seasons later, the Giants finished with a record of 13 – 3 and defeated the Buffalo Bills in the Super Bowl.
In 2004, the New York Giants brought in newcomer, Eli Manning, from the University of Mississippi as their new starting quarterback. Since then, other players shone in the spotlight such as defensive end Michael Strahan and running back Tiki Barber. In 2005, Barber set a team record for the most rushing yards. During the 2007 season, the New York Giants had the golden opportunity to play the first out of America NFL game in London’s Wembley Stadium. The Giants went on to defeat the Miami Dolphins 13–10. The Giants continued their success by achieving a spot in the NFL Playoffs. The defeat of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave Eli Manning his first playoff victory at the very same time head coach Tom Coughlin won his first playoff game as Giants head coach. With success at their heels, New York Giants tickets started to become a hot commodity. The New York Giants went on to defeat the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers and eventually the undefeated New England Patriots 17 -14 in Super Bowl XLII. Standing as one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history, Eli Manning went on to earn the MVP title for the game.
