[2 of 3 customers found this review helpful] Awesome show By HJM from Waterloo, Iowa on 6/28/2011 Pros: Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence Best For: Adults This was my 4th time seeing Motley Crue and I was very pleased with the show. Awesome Stage show, great setlist, engaged with the fans. Can't wait to go to the Moline show.
[6 of 10 customers found this review helpful] Poison rocked...Motley Not By c from Houston Texas on 6/12/2011 Pros: Great opening act Poison Cons: Poor Sound Quality Best For: Adults I was really disappointed with the Motley Crue performance. It seemed really disorganized...way too much time between songs. They slaughtered Home Sweet Home, and most of the other songs were difficult to listen to because the sound was so messed up. The best thing about the show was Poison.
[23 of 24 customers found this review helpful] Föuntain of Yoüth By hockey4 from Camden, NJ on 8/6/2009 Motley Crue took their performance to a whole new level in Cruefest-2 with, no-joke, the best concert I've ever seen. I offer my apologies to Metallica, GNR, Audioslave, Aerosmith, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, Megadeath, etc, who've all put on phenomenal shows in their prime- just not THIS good. Otherwise, I'm not the type to bother writing a review.
I was at Camden NJ for the first concert of Cruefest 2 and my fourth time seeing the Crue since 2005. In the three previous concerts, I went in hopes of simply being entertained by some great live music and rejuvenating memories of my youth when music was a big part of my life. They delivered, each time. But last Sunday it was different: they put on a performance that exceeded all expectations- I was on a (natural) high for days afterwards.
They were the tightest I've ever seen them play. They were more passionate and energized about their music than I'd seen previously. Vince Neil capitalized on his talent for far-reaching vocal range and sang with the precision of a studio album. Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx were flawless and powerful in their delivery, as well as entertaining, as always. Most impressive of all was Mick Mars. He carried the band with a phenomenal performance unlike any lead guitarist I've seen in concert. For lack of better words, his accuracy with every note was seamless, his delivery was potent/commanding, and his solo moments were captivating.
Their decision to "re-release" the Feelgood album/tour was genius. Their performance probably challenges even their own best 20 years ago. Yeah, I'm definitely pumped about this concert… They didn't just bring back memories of my youth; their performance made me feel like I was transported back in time, proving (at least to me) that youth is not an age, but a state of mind.
