Motley Crue, the American heavy-metal band known for “Girls, Girls Girls,” among others, has planned a tour known as Crue Fest, or “The Loudest Show on Earth." Crue Fest will include the Los Angeles Band along with many other big names from Buckcherry and Trapt to Papa Roach and Sixx: A.M. in summer of 2008. This alternative and rock festival kicks off on the first of July, hitting more than 40 major cities across the U.S. and Canada before the end of August.
This festival has been long awaited, and is the biggest thing to hit the tour scene in years. On top of this announcement, Motley Crue also plans to release Saints of Los Angeles, which is their first studio album ever recorded with all original band members since more than a decade ago. The release date for this album is scheduled for June 17. Dates are already available for this stellar event, including 21 shows in July alone.
There have been a number of past CrueFests beginning in 2001 and ending in 2006. Many fans of the band believed that after 2006 the band was going to call it quits. Turns out they were just gearing up for another enormous run. Bands from 2001 included Sick, Tin Goddess, Krazy Nate and Wheels of Confusion among many others. Sick and the Tin Goddess came back for round two in 2002, along with the Love Hammers, the Erotics and six other big names. Many of these bands have returned a number of times during past Crue Fests to join Motley Crue on stage. This is sure to be one event that can’t be missed . Shows are already beginning to sell out, including the July 10 show in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada with all of the special packages and fan club tickets already gone. Public Crue Fest tickets are still available, already looking to go quickly.
With Buckcherry, Sixx:A.M., Trapt and Papa Roach combined on stage, this event is sure to be the heaviest, loudest and hardest rock concert ever to hit the planet. Each of these bands have one major thing in common: California. Papa Roach was founded in Vacaville, California, breaking into mainstream in 2000 with their three-time platinum album, Infest. Buckcherry, formed in 1995, was founded in Los Angeles, California. The band released two albums before disbanding until 2005 when lead vocalist Josh Todd assembled a new band under the same moniker and released their biggest hit to date with “Crazy Bitch.”
Originating in Los Gatos, California, Trapt is a post-grunge and alternative metal band that is currently based in Canada. Sixx:A.M. was formed by former founder of Motley Crue, Nikki Sixx. Sixx: A.M. has been active since 2007, with the release of their album The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack which was based on Sixx’s book The Heroin Diaries.
With the incredible line-up of bands, and the fact that Motley Crue is going to be performing, there is a good chance that Cruefest tickets will be one hot commodity.
