The production 42nd street opened on Broadway on August 25, 1980. It’s based on the 1933 movie by Busby Berkeley, which starred Ginger Rogers, Dick Powell and Ruby Keeler. This play tells the story of a young actress who abandons her Allentown, Pennsylvania, home in order to audition for a new musical that is to take place on the Broadway stage. Once you pick up your 42nd Street ticketsand enjoy the costumes, dance and musical numbers that come along with the production.

This play took home the Tony Award for Best Musical and Choreography in 1980 - and 21 years later, grabbed another Tony for the Best Revival at the 2001 award ceremony.

Main character Peggy Sawyer is played by Laura Savage, who is begging for the chance to audition for the new Julian Marsh musical. She finds that it’s hard to get on the good side of the show’s leading lady. However, it’s the male lead and the renowned director that take notice to Sawyer immediately. When the star of the show breaks her ankle, it is Sawyer that has the chance to step into the spotlight and take her place. Don’t miss your chance to see it LIVE; buy your 42nd Street tickets now!
